I’ve gotten countless requests about my hair, and of course I’m flattered, but I have to let you guys know that it’s real!! After joking with my friend Kait about this post, I found myself writing it. Heres a little history, when I was younger I had long thick curly hair, and I hated it. When I got to high school I started to straighten my hair and chopped it all off up to my shoulders, It took one long year for it to grow back, but it came back stronger than ever! I’m specific about what I use in my hair, but my favorite shampoo and conditioner is the Moroccan Oil Combo. It’s a bit pricy, but it keeps my hair smooth, silky and full of moisture.
After my hair is detangled, its ready to be groomed, I use this hairdryer and this barrel brush. I used to be terrible at blowdrying my own hair, my arm would cramp up, but 4 years of practice and I think I’ve mastered the art.
Finally its dry, its fluffy and it just needs some light curls to top it off. I live by this curling iron, my friends have even tried stealing it, so I think I know what I’m buying everyone this christmas 😉
The tools I use are very inexpensive, but they make for great hair. Practicing to curl your hair is a good way to master it, and everyone knows second day hair is the better than the first.
1)Don’t over do it – let your hair breathe some days, I never apply heat to my hair everyday, my curls usually last 2 days without having to be retouched.
2)Work the hair flip – Bend and snap? That historic scene from Legally Blonde is what I picture when thinking of a good hair flip. Run your fingers through and fluff it up so you get that natural wavy look. I’m constantly flipping my part around to keep my hair alive.
3)Mini Hairspray – Tresemme didn’t make a mini bottle for no reason! Carry a small one around incase theres a fly away that needs to be put back into place.
4)Your hairdresser loves you – The one person that might take more pride in your hair than you is your hairdresser, so ask them for styling tips! I have 2 hairdressers and both have shown me tricks to style my hair.
I had to add this picture in, I had a small hair moment!
