Two weeks ago, I attended the annual Spring conference hosted by Hofstra University’s PRSSA chapter as a guest speaker on their “Real World of PR” panel. To have been a student there was honorable enough but to return and be involved in their many activities is more that I could have asked for. To inspire and speak to students who are interested in what your life is like is touching and the biggest piece of motivation. Had I known Fashion blogging and Fashion PR would open so many doors to work with others, I’d have started years ago but better late than never.
The conference was wonderful, it was great to hear from other speakers, see old classmates, meet students, and hear the stories that lead to a world of success.
Whenever I attend an event my initial thought going in is “I wonder what it’ll be like.” This event was well put together and reflected the hard work of the students who contributed. To all the students who had questions, sent emails, and spoke to me in person about fashion blogging and fashion PR, I thank you deeply and I hope I was the best help I could have been!
With all the connections I’ve made and the new ones I’m making each day I was happy to bring a few gifts to this event for give aways. The best part is seeing that lucky students face light up when they’ve realized they’ve won. This may have been one of my favorite parts of this conference.
Thank you to Alles Bags, Made Modern, and Curate Chicago for making this give away possible and working with me. Your kindness is much appreciated.
A little insight to these stylish companies:
Alles Bags – A modern bag company creating stunning pieces with a functional twist being run by an awesome mother-daughter team. ( My Alles Bag collection is slowly growing)
Made Modern – A women’s clothing shop putting together chic and functional with a great price point. I highly recommend! *Flasback to Hofstra’s PRSSA Lights Camera Network, I wore a blue jumpsuit from here*
Curate Chicago – A gifting company with some fashionable finds, decor, baby items and much more! This company, run by a husband and wife duo, is changing the gift game and leaving inspiration with every gift.
I did promise I would share where I got all my pieces from I wore to the event, and the entire suit was from Express, the pieces were purchased at different points in time, but are basic enough to still be found in stores. Click to shop my women-business picks below. Xoxo
